Founded in 1994, we have spent over 30 years representing businesses, property owners, contractors, landlords, and individuals across British Columbia in construction, commercial leasing, business, contract, and real property disputes.

Cam McKechnie
Managing Partner
Cam was called to the BC bar in 1985 and has practiced as both a corporate solicitor and as a commercial litigator, the latter since 1994, specializing in construction litigation, collections, and property-related disputes. He founded McKechnie & Company in the mid-nineties and now limits his practice to matters in BC Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.
Kevin Yee
Associate
Kevin is a seasoned civil litigator with a focus on commercial disputes, property disputes, builders liens, and debt collection. He has appeared before the BC Court of Appeal, BC Supreme Court, BC Provincial Court, the BC Human Rights Tribunal, and the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. Kevin speaks Cantonese and regularly represents members of the Chinese community.
Philip Di Tomaso
Associate
Philip has practiced commercial litigation for more than 20 years, representing clients in construction disputes, commercial tenancy matters, property disputes, and debt collection across BC. He has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia and is experienced arbitration and mediation counsel.

Hala Awad
Office Manager
Hala has managed McKechnie & Company’s daily administrative and accounting operations since 2020. She supports exceptional service delivery through the efficient management of core financial and operational functions, including accounts payable and receivable, trust accounting, billing and account reconciliation.
Outside of work, Hala enjoys spending time with her two teenagers and pursuing her interests in home improvement and design.
Gordon Pellow
Paralegal
Gordon Pellow has over a decade of experience in the legal industry assisting his teams in the practice areas of personal injury, commercial litigation, debt collection, and contract disputes.
Outside of work, he volunteers his time coaching minor hockey in his local community and can be found on a frozen lake ice fishing or enjoying the West Coast mountains.
Brooklyn Whiteside
Paralegal
Brooklyn is a paralegal at McKechnie & Company, supporting the lawyers with preparing legal documents, correspondence, and file management. She works across matters from start to finish, ensuring organization and efficiency throughout the process.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Brooklyn enjoys spending her spare time exploring the mountains and taking advantage of Canada’s hiking, camping, and outdoor lifestyle.
